Do You Believe Diets Work Long Term?

Diets don’t work. They are a short term solution. Once you stop the diet and go right back to your life the weight comes back. I know. You have to change your lifestyle. Once I started walking more and eating better the weight started coming off. So, so, so much slower but hopefully this time I will be able to keep it off. PS. I got a dog that forces me to walk it and look after it. This really made things easier for me.

I believe diets don’t work, behavior modification is what allows one to lose weight. Some of the people didn’t have the best grammar and needed to lose weight themselves, but they were really honest and right. A diet is not magic, it takes a lifetime commitment to take weight off and keep it off and that’s really hard to do. Once the initial rush from losing weight or the motivation (like the class reunion) is gone it’s really easy to slip back to your old habits and weight comes back.

Diets do not work for the long term. Sure they can have temparory results, clean out your system, or posibbly make you feel better. But, life changes make the real difference. Give up red meat(and pork). Drink sweetened drinks only once a day with a meal. And watch your body thank you.

  4. Yes, They work in the long run.. if the person is on the right diet, that they are comfortable with, and that is right for their body and blood type.

No, because many diet short term, go into the wrong diet and become extremely stressed, and end up gaining back the way and even more.

I always preach Eat in a Healthy Moderation..
You can eat anything as long as you learn the healthy serving sizes and portions… But remaining active, sleeping eating, and exercising right.. is a major key as well as staying hydrated.

The easiest non diet thing to try, Drink one glass of 12 oz water before every meal. Not with it a few minutes before the meal the entire glass. This helps the stomach flush out toxins, stops the body from mistaking hunger for thirst, and will allow you to feel fuller sooner.

  6. Joy says:

As one of the women stated, you’ve got to be committed in the long run. You also need a TON of self-discipline and will have to stick with something that’s going to work for you for your entire lifetime, not for something that’s a short term solution.
